McKee teaches at The Wharton School of Business, Aresty Institute of Executive Education and the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University, and has taught at the University of Pennsylvania for many years while leading an international consulting firm.

She contributes to her field by conducting research and providing pro bono services for international non-governmental organizations, such as the United Nations.

When inspiring her audience about leadership, passion, and sustaining resonance in an uncertain world, McKee often quotes Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
